Now this is a question I get a lot, “Julie, how do you have time everyday to have a spiritual practice?” And my question to you is, “How do you not have time everyday?” So, I am going to be sharing my tips about how to have a consistent, daily spiritual practice. First, remember how good it feels to do your spiritual practice on the days you don’t want too or think you don’t have time too. Second, get a buddy. Third, schedule it into your life by adding it your calendar.

Hi everyone! I’m Julie. I’m an Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher and Founder of Jiva Reiki. Today we are going to be talking about Reiki for a consistent, daily spiritual practice. Now this is a question I get a lot, “Julie, how do you have time everyday to have a spiritual practice?” And my question to you is, “How do you not have time everyday?” So, I am going to be sharing my tips about how to have a consistent, daily spiritual practice. I used to really struggle with this. I used to think that my spiritual practice had to be at the same time everyday and had to be exactly the same. I’d get really really angry at myself when I skipped a day or when I couldn’t sit in meditation for as long as I wanted to. And, then I realized, everything is in constant change, including me. Everyday I wake up feeling different. Everyday I am different. And so, what I need everyday is different. That was a huge realization for me. I realized wow, my spiritual practice can be different everyday and that it doesn’t have to be exactly the same and very rigorous because I am not exactly the same everyday. And so, I have my tool kit of my spiritual practices which include daily Reiki, meditation, yoga asana or yoga postures, journaling, talking to my angels and pulling tarot or angel oracle cards. So, those are my spiritual tools and everyday I do some combination of my spiritual tools. For example, this morning I woke up and really needed a super long Reiki session. So, that is what I did. I did 45 minutes of Reiki, 10 minutes of journaling, and 5 minutes of sitting in meditation. So, it really just depends. Knowing that completely changed my whole view on a daily spiritual practice. That it doesn’t have to be exactly the same. It doesn’t have to. You wake up every morning and ask “How can I love myself best? What do I need today?” And then you listen, because you know what you need that day. You know what you need to do in your spiritual practice that day.
My first tip for a constant daily spiritual practice is to force yourself to do your spiritual practice just once. Then, remember how good you feel after you do your practice. That is what gets me to do it every single day. Sometimes I wake up and feel like ugh I don’t feel like doing it. Then I remember how when I do my practice, those days are great, easy, fluid and how miracles just happen. Then the days I forget to do my practice, I remember how my day just doesn’t go how I wanted it to. I’m not as happy. I feel drained and tired at the end of the day. So, that is the number one thing that gets me going to do my spiritual practice on the days where I feel like I don’t have time or when I feel so lazy that I don’t want to. I remember what happens when I don’t do it and I remember how great I feel when I do do it. So, that is my number one tip. When you really really don’t feel like you have time or you feel so lazy, remember how great it feels to do it. Remember how miracles just happen, how you meet the perfect right, person, at the perfect, right time, and how you have all these synchronicities line up. That is the magic to doing it. It doesn’t take a lot of time. Right? It could be 5 minutes.
My number two tip is getting a buddy. So, get a Reiki buddy. Get a meditation buddy. Get a yoga asana buddy. Just get a buddy so that you each are encouraging each other, every single day to do your practice. Texting each other saying, “How did it go today?” or if anything came up, you have somebody to share your experience with. So, just getting somebody to practice and talk with. And getting each other to remind each other how great it feels when you do it.
Tip number three is schedule it into your day. Seriously, whip out your planner and put it into your day. Put okay, I am going to wake up 5 minutes early so I can do 5 minutes of meditation. Or, I am going to get in bed 5 minutes early so I can do 5 minutes of Reiki meditation. Seriously, put it in your planner, write it in your phone. Set an alarm on your phone. So, you know that you have that time slotted out for you. That really really helped me when I started to put stuff into my calendar. Like, handwrite it in my actual calendar because then I wouldn’t miss it. It was scheduled in there. I had started creating energy that it was going to happen because it was already written in my planner.
So, those are my three amazing realizations on how I do my daily spiritual practice. So, what we are going to do now, is create an energetic pathway using Reiki for each of you yourselves to create your own time for your daily spiritual practice.
So, sitting up nice and tall, getting comfortable. Maybe laying down. And just closing your eyes, elongating your spine. Coming to the present moment. Taking a deep, slow, three-part breath. Inhaling, lower belly, rib cage, heart rises. Exhaling, heart, rib cage, lower belly. Two more. Inhaling, lower belly, rib cage, heart rises. Exhaling, heart, rib cage, lower belly. Inhaling, lower belly, rib cage, heart rises. Exhaling, heart, rib cage, lower belly. Continuing to take deep, long, slow breaths. Letting go of anything that may be on your mind right now. Letting go of your story. Letting go of your to-do list. Allowing yourself to be fully present for the next few minutes as we do Reiki together. Inhaling, and on your exhale let go of anything that no longer serves you. Taking a few more breaths.
I am going to start to beam you guys Reiki as you mentally repeat, “Reiki thank you for helping guide my spiritual practice every single day. Reiki thank you for helping guide my spiritual practice every single day. Reiki thank you for help guiding me to do what is best and right for me each and every day. Reiki thank you for help guiding me to do what is best and right for me each and every day. Reiki thank you for helping me know that it is okay that my spiritual practice is different every single day. Reiki thank you for helping me know that it is okay that my spiritual practice is different every single day. Reiki, thank you for helping me hear your guidance.”
Now in your third eye, in your imagination, in your mind’s eye, starting to visualize, feel, sense or know, what it would look like and feel like if you had a daily spiritual practice every single day. Feel how you would be happier, lighter, and more joyful. See what it would look like. Would it be sitting in meditation or laying in your bed doing self Reiki or going out in nature and sitting in silence. Whatever it is for you. Holding that image, as I beam Reiki to it. And notice any feelings that may come up. How does it feel? Does this feel like this can really happen? Does this feel fake? Just notice. No judgement. Then return your attention back on the image of what it looks like for you to do your daily spiritual practice and how it feels. Trying to hold this imagine for about two minutes more as I continue to beam you Reiki.
Placing your hands over your heart, knowing that it is easy to have a daily spiritual practice and you can have one too. When you are ready, slowly flickering your eyes open. We have just cleared an energetic pathway for you to have an easy, effortless, guided daily spiritual practice. So, that means, that everything happens in the energetic world first. Then, it manifest into this physical world. And so, by first creating an energetic pathway like we just did everything happens more easily and effortlessly. So, let me know how that goes.
