Hi, my name is Julie! Welcome to Jiva Reiki School. I am an Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Yoga Instructor, and an organic and health food enthusiast.

I started Jiva Reiki School to educate people, specifically youth and young adults on Reiki. My Reiki story goes a little something like this…..

I had a hard time growing up: I always felt uncomfortable and insecure. I couldn’t look people in the eye. I was scared to talk to new people. I never felt like my voice or opinion mattered and I felt like I was always a victim and never had any power over my life. For a long time in my life, I thought this was normal because I didn’t know anything else. I had a lot of family problems and let society influence me greatly.

Then one day, when I was fourteen and really felt like I had given up on life, I met a woman who introduced me to a totally different way of being and thinking.

She taught me the foundation of my Reiki practice and became one of my Reiki Teachers. Reiki transformed me from a sensitive, scared, insecure girl into a confident, healthy, self-assured young woman. I experienced the profound effects Reiki had on me and I wanted to share it with others.

I attended Rutgers University where I shared my passion of Reiki and created a college community of like-minded individuals. I became the first person to do Reiki in the recreation department teaching a Yoga infused Reiki class every week. I started the Rutgers Yoga and Reiki club which offers weekly Reiki meditation, yoga classes, and self-love workshops. I gave a talk at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to pre-med students on Reiki. I succeeded in spreading Reiki throughout Rutgers and now my passion is to share the healing power of Reiki with all youth and young adults who experienced what I did when I was younger. My goal is to give people a healthy, constructive tool that will help them live happy, healthier lives. Reiki on, Reiki power!

Reiki

Reiki is a form of healing energy that is deeply relaxing and promotes the healing of your mind, body, and spirit.  The best way to understand Reiki is to break down the Japanese kanji or symbol: Rei mean Spiritual Wisdom and Ki means Life Energy. So, Reiki means Spiritually Guided Life Energy. Reiki is just a special type of Ki. We find Ki used in all different languages and cultures; in Sanskrit it is Prana, in Chinese it is Chi, and by scientists it is the bioenergy field. Reiki is a very special type of Ki that always knows what is good for your best and highest healing because Reiki practitioners do not direct Ki but hold space for Divine Wisdom to guide the Ki.

Now, I bet you’re wondering, “how does this work?” Well, Reiki works on the basis that everything is energy and has a vibrational frequency. It is easy to understand vibrational frequencies when we talk about cell phones, televisions, and radios. These are physical manifestations of how vibrational frequencies work. Reiki works with your body’s energy system or chakras to support your body's natural ability to heal.

The International Center for Reiki Training was founded in 1997 to establish and maintain standards for Reiki, create a licensed teacher program, provide a Reiki membership association, and to provide a database helping students find a Reiki Teacher.  The Director of the International Center for Reiki Training, Carolyn Musial who is a senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher, ignited Julie to receive Holy Fire.

There are many kinds of Reiki. Holy Fire is a spiritual energy that creates wholeness through purification, healing, empowerment and guidance. Holy Fire has no lineage, that is, it has no person who originally channeled the energy. Holy Fire changed the way teachers teach Reiki from attunements to ignitions. Holy Fire ignites the student by a process that is conducted directly by the Holy Fire energy.
